About the Role
Performance Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, standards-based lesson plans on health and physical education across Student Services locations.
- Assess and evaluate student learning, growth, and progress towards fitness and health goals.
- Create and maintain a safe, positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to foster and support student success and school wide initiatives.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students as needed.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and trends in health and physical education.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Prepare and maintain current schedules, lesson plans, and other appropriate information/material that are available for supervisory submission, review, and approval.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education or a related field preferred.
- Valid, active, Pennsylvania Instructional I or II required – Health and Physical education Pk-12.
- Full certification in Safe Crisis Management (SCM), or willingness to complete upon hire.
- First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to complete upon hire.
- Ability to motivate students of all ages and skill levels.
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development.
- Strong verbal and written language skills.
