BRIEF INTRO TO MY TRAINING:
I want to help young athletes ache I've success on the track but also build them to achieve success in the classroom. I have background of multiple advanced sports psychology classes. I'm talking about the yerkes-dodson rule to self-talk. I've had years of college training and learning as well as coaching myself in high school at development camps for my high school and the success I achieved. I want to keep athlete excited and healthy to do what they love and be a coach that's not only a coach but someone they feel comfortable to talk to. Below is a brief preview of the training I have trained a few athletes with and I have trained with and both saw huge improvements and better in health.
TRAINING: All your posterior muscles or hamstring, calf's and gluts are for power and speed, your front muscles are meant to slow you down and is what everybody looks at. But as you accelerate your using your hamstrings and gluts is more most all your power is coming from. And creating a balance with a strong back and fine tuning all your small muscles as well as creating flexibility and blood flow to your tissues you create the ultimate runner.
Deadlift - Sumo deadlift: It is much safer on the low back due to emphasizing the legs, hips, and gluts with a straight back. The conventional style uses a lot of lower back, making a low back injury very possible. Creates even more strength through hamstring and lower leg muscles than a squat even can.
Good mornings - banded good mornings creates amazing and safe and fast/ explosive hamstrings.
Box jumps: 40 box jumps twice a week will make huge improvements in explosion and speed but in order to accomplish it you have to switch up how you approach the box jumps for example one day you may do 40 box jumps to a really high box and the next time hold 30 pound DB's in your hands and jump to a 15-20" box. "Jumping combines strength, speed, and, of course, coordination, therefore it is an inseparable
part of sports training during general sport-spec preparation."
Sled pulls: "developing, the ability to move your legs faster than your competitor is a must, as well as increasing your stride while being able to maintain your top speed longer than everyone else and producing great ground force in minimal amount of time. But, how do you do this? e answer is pulling a weighted sled"
Recovery: this is two parts the normal stretching and after workout getting recovery meal and sleeping or ice bath or contrasting. But the second part if part of something called the conjugate system and this means the athelete is rotating better different exercises and weights throughout workouts so the body is getting different types of work and doesn't become repetitive. Will help stimulate the athlete in growth and becoming the best athlete/ sprinter possible.
I want to coach and go to school, I have a very open schedule and is all based around work first.
