J. N. "Jim" Whiddon, founder of The Old School, earned his Bachelor’s degree in Education from Texas A&M and was a member of the Corps of Cadets (ROTC). While in graduate school at TAMU, he was a graduate assistant coach for the Aggie basketball team for two seasons. Jim also holds a Masters of Science degree from The American College in Philadelphia.
Whiddon founded JWA Financial Group, Inc. in Dallas, Texas, and served as CEO for 28 years before his firm was acquired in a merger in 2013. He is a two-time recipient of the "Aggie 100 Award" from The Mays Center for Entrepreneurship.
Whiddon hosted his own radio show for five years, including a stint with CNN Headline News. He speaks to audiences throughout the U.S. and internationally, and his work has been quoted or seen in more than 350 publications and national media outlets - including Fortune Magazine, the Wall Street Journal, and CNBC. He has also been a FOX News Radio contributor.
He is the author of four books, including his latest, The Old School Advantage: Timeless Tools for Every Generation, released in February 2016.
