Profile Summary

My name is Michael O'Brien. I am twenty-two years old. I am from and currently still live in Northville, MI. I have been playing soccer my entire life. I played "Rec" soccer till high school where I was highly encouraged to join a club team by my coaches. I worked my way into the Michigan Jags program playing every position on the field, including goal keeper. After four years with the Jags, I was recruited to play soccer at Defiance College in Ohio. I was a regular starter with the first team and truly grew as both a player and student of the game. In 2015 I moved back home and was fortunate enough to get a coaching job at Northville High School. I am a very passionate person in general, but as a coach, I feel right at home. I believe in my players and trust them to learn from their mistakes. I encourage them to give 110% or more at all times. I believe that a high work rate and drive are contagious and necessary for teams to have success on and off the field. I have spent the last four years coaching in both the boys and girls programs at Northville High School. I am hoping to continue to learn and study the game at the collegiate level.
