Profile Summary
I was recently a strength coach at Cal Poly Humboldt. Here I worked with all the athletic teams and was given responsibility over Mens Basketball and Womens Volleyball. I set up their programs and ran their workouts. Many of these athletes never spent consistent time in the gym, especially after the pandemic, so my main goal was to teach them proper technique and keep them safe to eventually start to build their strength. I have a very clear understanding on every movement that is performed in a weight room setting and can demonstrate everything I ask of my athletes. I have strong communication skills and understand that coaching an athlete means not every cue will be the same for each individual. At the end of the day I am there for the athlete. I want them to enjoy coming in and getting stronger. If I am the first person they see to start their day then I want to start their day off right which can lead to a positive day overall. If they can leave the gym feeling better than when they came in then I see that as a win. It should not feel like a chore but rather help them see it as an opportunity to grow and be the best athlete they can be.
