Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct practices focusing on skill development, strategy, teamwork, and physical conditioning.
- Organize and supervise team activities including practices, games, and team meetings.
- Teach the fundamental skills and rules of volleyball in a positive and supportive environment.
- Monitor academic eligibility and encourage academic success among student-athletes.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of players during practices, games, and travel.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, school staff, and the athletic department.
- Model and enforce appropriate behavior, sportsmanship, and respect at all times.
- Maintain and care for equipment and uniforms; report needs or damages to the athletic director.
- Comply with school district policies and league rules and regulations.
- Coaches are to be at all practice sessions, games, and contests on time and are to be dressed appropriately.
- Support game day operations, including setting up equipment, managing substitutions, and providing in-game coaching.
- Serve as a role model for student-athletes in behavior, attitude, and sportsmanship.
- Cooperation is an essential part of the Boone High School athletic program. Coaches should cooperate with coaches of other sports and support each other in an ethical manner.
Qualifications:
- Must have current Coaching Endorsement or Authorization and completed CPR training and Concussion course (school provided).
- Previous coaching experience or strong knowledge of volleyball (experience working with high school athletes is a plus).
- Ability to pass a background check, in accordance with school policy.
