Description
The Assistant Golf Coach is responsible to assist the head coach in all phases of the program including, but not limited to, recruiting qualified student-athletes, organization and design of practice and competition, scheduling, travel arrangements, budget management, supervision of academic progress, alumni development, fundraising and any other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the direction and supervision of all activities relative to the teaching, training, and skill development of student-athletes in preparation for competition.
- Provide technical skill instruction at practices, conduct individual training sessions, scouting of opponents, and team & individual analysis to aid in growth and skill development of student-athletes.
- Assist in the execution of practice plans to prepare the team physically and mentally for competition.
- Assist in student-athlete preparation for games by contributing strategies and aiding in daily preparation of organized and effective practices.
- Assist with hosting individual meetings with student-athletes to provide on-going assessment and aid in the development of their academic, athletic and personal health and well-being
- Inform and direct student-athletes to college academic support resources.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years golf coaching at the Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior College or High School level and/or or playing experience at the collegiate/professional level.
- 2 years of experience as a GA or student employee is equal to 1 year of professional experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Degree must be conferred at the time of application).
