Description
The Assistant Men’s & Women’s Track & Field Coach assists in organizing, conducting, and supervising all aspects of a Division II Track & Field program, within the parameters designated by the University, Sunshine State Conference, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). This position focuses on student-athlete development, recruitment, and day-to-day program operations while supporting the Head Coach in achieving program success.
Duties and Tasks:
- Recruiting and evaluating prospective student-athletes.
- Conducting and supervising practices and player conditioning.
- Assisting in developing and implementing event-specific training strategies.
- Monitoring academic progress and personal development of student-athletes.
- Creating a positive and productive environment for student-athletes.
- Ensuring compliance with all NCAA and conference regulations.
- Supporting budget management, equipment needs, and travel logistics.
- Attending conference and NCAA meetings as required.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of coaching techniques and strategies for Track & Field.
- Ability to motivate and develop student-athletes.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to recruit high-caliber student-athletes.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Proficiency in computer programs used for coaching, recruiting, and analysis.
