WVWC is seeking a dedicated assistant soccer coach to support the development and success of our soccer program. The ideal candidate will have experience in coaching, player development, and team strategy, with a strong understanding of the game. This role involves assisting the head coach in training sessions, game preparation, recruitment, and mentoring student-athletes to achieve their full potential on and off the field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and conducting training sessions, drills, and team strategies.
- Support the head coach in game-day preparation, tactics, and in-game adjustments.
- Assist with recruitment efforts by evaluating prospective student-athletes.
- Monitor student-athlete academic progress and provide mentorship.
- Help organize team logistics, including travel arrangements and equipment management.
- Ensure compliance with all [conference, league, or NCAA/NAIA] regulations and team policies.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Sports Management, exercise science, or relatable field.
- Previous coaching experience at the club, high school, or collegiate level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of soccer tactics, techniques, and training methodologies.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as needed.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
