Athletic Director

The High School Athletic Director will serve as a pivotal figure in fostering a positive and successful athletic program. The primary responsibility will be to oversee all aspects of the high school’s athletic department and instill a vision for a comprehensive district-wide athletic program, ensuring the smooth operation of athletic events, programs and facilities. The position will collaborate closely with coaches, staff, students, parents and external stakeholders to promote a culture of sportsmanship, teamwork and excellence.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Demonstrates sound judgement and emotional stability.
• Maintains a positive attitude and works well with others.
• Ensures the safety of students.
• Interacts with staff, students and the community in a positive and respectful manner.
• Collaborates to establish a vision for the district athletics programs that ensures continuity between middle and high school athletics.
• Supports student-athletes’ mental health and well-being.
• Facilitates ongoing communication with athletics team members and high school and district level administrators regarding athletic events and operations.
• Works collaboratively with the Middle School Athletic Director to create alignment between middle school and high school athletics.
• Creates high school schedules for all sports, teams and coaches (in-season and out-of-season), ensuring equitable scheduling of facilities for practices and competitions among different sports teams.
• Supervises the work of the Associate High School Athletic Director, site managers and other school event workers to ensure all practices and competitions are scheduled and run effectively.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Must hold a Master’s Degree or be working toward a Master’s Degree.
• Prior experience in an athletic department preferred.
