Description
DSU is seeking to hire an Athletic Training Program Director. The Program Director oversees the curriculum, course scheduling, and faculty development as it pertains to special licensure and accreditation in the field of athletic training. This position would also teach a variety of courses in athletic training per program requirements, and requires willingness to teach online and/or hybrid courses, in addition to traditional face-to-face teaching modality.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate degree in Athletic Training or related field.
- All academic degrees from accredited institutions.
- Current Athletic Trainer Certified through Board of Certification.
- Current National Provider Identifier (NPI) number.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent certification.
- Athletic Trainer Certification and State License must be in good standing.
- Demonstrated experience with CAATE accreditation processes.
- Demonstrated contemporary expertise in athletic training.
- Demonstrated clinical practice in Athletic Training.
- Demonstrated scholarship in the field of Athletic Training.
- Previous full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Update necessary reporting and assessment to fall within the guidelines of CAATE.
- Finalize self-study reporting to the appropriate CAATE accreditors.
- Oversite and execution of MSAT program accreditation and site visits from CAATE.
- Uphold accreditation by CAATE for the MSAT.
- Exploration of programming expansion under CAATE standards (dual mission or remote access).
- Lead program faculty through accreditation processes.
- Provide training to potential successors in required accreditation and assessment procedures for the MSAT program.
- Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse and highly qualified faculty and staff.
- Set rigorous goals for direct reports and conduct annual reviews that result in improved performance by MSAT faculty.
