Description
The Athletic Director is responsible for developing, managing, coordinating, and supervising a competitive intercollegiate athletics program.
Duties:
- Ensures the Jackson State Community College athletic programs support the college's and each student-athlete’s educational goals while fielding competitive teams that positively represent the college and community.
- Ensure compliance with National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Tennessee Community College Athletic Association (TCCAA), Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), and Jackson State Community College policies or guidelines related to athletics. o Certify the eligibility of each team member. o Maintain required documentation related to academic and medical evaluations necessary for eligibility audit. o Continually monitor the progress of student-athletes and the enrollment requirements necessary for eligibility.
- Serve as the primary academic advisor for all student-athletes.
- Monitor and ensure Title IX compliance.
- Communicate frequently with the Vice President of Student Services (direct report) regarding day-to-day developments in the Athletic Division.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- No less than three (3) years of experience in Athletics or experience as a full-time coach (any sport) at a college or university level.
- Previous work experience in supervision of personnel/management.
