Coach – Cross Country – Middle and High School

Responsibilities:

• Design and lead engaging and challenging practices that promote physical endurance, mental toughness, and emotional well-being.
• Foster a team culture of crew, rooted in mutual respect, collaboration, and a growth mindset.
• Promote sportsmanship and healthy competition, ensuring every athlete understands the value of effort, discipline, and teamwork.
• Inspire athletes to pursue excellence through goal setting, accountability, and reflective practice.
• Encourage participation and inclusivity, creating a supportive space for runners of all levels.
• Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and school staff.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all team members during practices and meets.
• Model and uphold the values of Renaissance Secondary School, including leadership, integrity, and community engagement.

Qualifications:

• Previous coaching or competitive cross country experience.
• A deep understanding of adolescent development and a commitment to student growth.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• CHSAA certification (or willingness to obtain).
• A positive attitude, high energy, and a passion for developing student-athletes.
