Description
The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach plays a key role in safety and compliance within the NESCAC, NCAA and Williams College rules and regulations. The successful candidate will work directly with sports medicine, as well as head and assistant coaches to establish appropriate competitive and developmental goals for each sport in each season.
Responsibilities:
- Designing, developing, directing and conducting team and individual strength and conditioning programs for in-season, post-season and non-traditional seasons where appropriate and permissible.
- Preparing training and acclimatization programs that reflect current scientific research in the field and meet NCAA compliance requirements as well as developing data analytics to evaluate implemented programs for student-athletes in order to refine programming.
- Mentoring, supervising, scheduling and collaborating with strength & conditioning coaching staff (head coaches and assistants) who serve as S&C coaches and facility supervisors.
- Communicating effectively and developing positive working relationships with head coaches, student-athletes, sports medicine staff and administrators.
- Overseeing the promotion of student-athlete safety and well-being in all training sessions, conditioning activities, practice activities and competitions. Provide student-athletes with instruction regarding physical health and safety.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of Strength and Conditioning coaching experience.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certification required.
- Experience in designing and implementing strength and conditioning programs, preferably at the collegiate level.
- Knowledge of NCAA and Division III rules and regulations related to strength and conditioning training.
- Ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and student-athletes from diverse backgrounds.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to navigate various sporting venues and move heavier loads of 50-100lbs.
