Description
Assists with the development and implementation of assigned sport program(s) strength and conditioning related activities and provides expert knowledge and instruction for a competitive intercollegiate athletics program in support of fielding a competitive team, fostering a positive student-athlete experience, and maintaining regulatory compliance.
DUTIES:
- Assists in the development and monitoring of individual and team weight training and conditioning programs.
- Enters and maintains computerized data and tracking of individual and team student-athlete workouts.
- Assists with the instruction and execution of conditioning simulations and exercises for a designated athletic team, provides information, and consults with student-athletes regarding weightlifting and conditioning techniques and safety.
- Serves as a point of contact and liaison to coaching staff, medical professionals, and student-athletes to monitor physical health, improve athletic abilities, and provide information and coaching.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to provide strength and conditioning programming to a diverse population of student-athletes.
- Ability to travel overnight, work nights, weekends and as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Ability to provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of staff and student-athletes.
- Ability to resolve problems and answer questions related to strength and conditioning program.
- Ability to organize workflow and coordinate activities.
- Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills both orally and written.
