Description
The University of Maryland Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning Department seeks applications for the position of Strength & Conditioning Coaching Assistant.
Responsibilities:
- Attain practical knowledge and experience working hands on with 16 Division I Championship level teams.
- Opportunity to be assigned 2-4 sports (determined by best fit/experience level).
- Potential to include enrollment in CSCCa practicum and sit for the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Association's certification and practical exam (all expenses paid).
- Gain experience with other sport science technologies, athlete monitoring and management platforms (VALD Systems: ForceDecks, ForceFrame, NordBord, SmartSpeed; Catapult, VBT, and Smartabase).
- Collaborate and work alongside other sport performance team members (Sports Medicine, Nutrition, Psychology, Academics, Sport Coaches).
- Gain valuable experience working with and learning from six strength staff members with nearly 50 years of combined experience.
- Build/expand professional network and receive future recommendations.
Education and Credentials:
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in related field.
- One or both of the following Certifications: CSCS, SCCC.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certified.
