Description
The Spring Track & Field season will run Monday, April 22 – May 23 and the Summer Track & Field season will run June 3 – July 11. Practices are an hour long and will take place Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, with some track meets on Thursdays. Staff shifts will run 6:00 – 7:30 PM. The Head Coach is also required to meet with the Gliders Leadership Team and help lesson plan prior to the season starting.
Essential Functions:
- Act both as a running coach and running partner for both Track and Field and Cross-Country programs.
- Run with participants on tracks, trails, sidewalks, and City Park tails.
- Coordinate, set up, and clean up at track and cross-country meets.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to gain certification.
- Track and field, cross country, or other running experience.
- Attendance at practices and events required.
- Experience with Gliders program preferred.
- Volunteer or paid coaching experience preferred.
- Familiarity with schools and trails in Issaquah and Sammamish preferred.
- Ability to pass a driver’s abstract and city van training (if necessary)
- Qualified applicants over 18 years of age must pass a criminal background screen.
