Description
The Assistant Athletic Director plays a pivotal role in the strategic direction of the athletic department, collaborating closely with the Senior leadership team to ensure its success. This individual will be responsible for providing leadership development support, fostering a positive work environment, and working with over 650 student-athletes, 23 varsity sports, and robust Athletics staff.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the Senior Woman Administrator (SWA) and a member of the Athletic Department Senior Leadership team in providing strategic direction and evaluation of the athletic department.
- Provide support to the Athletic Director in addressing all aspects of Title IX and gender equity within the department, encompassing representation on committees, and facilitation of mandatory NCAA sexual violence training for both student-athletes and staff.
- Coordinate departmental professional development initiatives to foster growth and excellence within the athletic program.
- Assist the Athletic Director with supporting and advising the staff in the Athletics Office.
- Assist the Athletic Director with budgetary planning, review and fundraising, departmental policy development, personnel hiring and coach evaluations.
- Manage all aspects of student-athlete programming, ranging from coordinating guest speakers and educational sessions to planning welcome-back events and end-of-year celebrations, ensuring a comprehensive and enriching experience for student-athletes throughout the academic year.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in Athletics
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able organize and interact functionally, orally and in writing, with a diverse group of students, faculty and staff.
- Leadership development skills, strong attention to detail, and
- Administration, personnel & organizational management knowledge
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented office environment and interact in a positive manner with students, faculty, staff, visitors, and the public.
- Collegiate experience as a coach or student-athlete, preferred.
