Description
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsement for subject and level assigned or approved alternative certification program.
- National Strength & Conditioning Association CSCS Certified preferred.
- Maintain current CPR/AED/First Aid certification annually.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check.
Responsibilities:
- Designs and supervises weight training and conditioning programs for all boys’ and girls’ sports at Del Valle High School for pre-season, in-season, and off-season. This includes setting up and taking down of all strength and conditioning equipment used on a daily basis.
- Works in cooperation with the middle school coaches to design and implement an effective strength and conditioning fundamental training model.
- Works in cooperation with athletic trainers in minimizing and rehabilitating injuries as well as the strengthening of injured athletes.
- Is responsible for the daily operation of the strength and conditioning facility as well as the coordination and scheduling of the facility before, after the school day, and throughout the year.
- Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skill, and knowledge to be taught to the athletes in
- Prepares well-organized, written strength & conditioning plans which utilize the coaching staff and team to its maximum potential.
- Plans, organizes, and directs summer strength & conditioning camps for both high school and middle school athletes.
